Update from my doctor visit today.
The surgeon was very confident that he removed all the cancer. However, he said mine was not what he typically sees in that it was of a much more aggressive variety and was Stage 3, per the pathology report. For this reason he is recommending increased monitoring via CT scan, etc of my lungs and other vital organs. I still have the issue of the esophageal "calcification" and we decided to expedite that test as soon as I'm up to it.
Overall I feel very good about the results and am comfortable with his plans going forward. He made a statement that only increased my belief that God's hand was all over this. He said we were smart to aggressively go and get that kidney out, considering the much more aggressive nature of my particular type of cancer. Had it not have been for my ER visit and the CT scan I would have been oblivious to what was happening in my body till it was potentially too late. I am thankful to God for this blessing.
I am again thankful for your prayers and well wishes along the way and ask for your continued prayers. I'll quote the ever eloquent Adam and say "Let's kick it's A**. I'll also quote Marcus. "HE got this". Love you all. [Post edited by HooBdooBdoo at 10/19/2017 6:09PM]
