So the board seems to still be active. This football season will be tough
with this schedule, but.... good times could be ahead. I hope.

Miss seeing you JD
Of course, with my work these days I'm only making the occasional game. Facebook memories shows me some great pics reminding me of the family.

Sad to see the site go, But I completely Understand...Visited the "Last
Page" on the Site From 2015.
I started to then read forward in the posts. It sure brought back a lot of great memories, and a few really sad ones. Remembering all those we have lost over the years, and reading their posts, the ones they posted long before they were gone.

I do miss those folks, but it was sure great to read their posts.(I could here there voices and see their faces when I read those posts)

I look forward to the next chapters of Wilk Hall!

This could be my last post
Our main contact now with Wilkhall is this board and that is sadly going away. For years,
Barb and I looked forward to spending Saturdays with our extended family and growing old
with the very best people in the world. In the past three years Barb's health has prevented
us from participating in any Hoo activities and that has really hurt. We will always be with
you in spirit and cherish our memories of Snap, Uncle Ronnie, Sarge, B Ball Bill and all the
others who gave us their love. God Bless you and don't forget old JD and Barb

The year is ending with good news from JD and Barb
Barb finally got home from rehab after eight weeks of therapy for her amputation. She weighed a whopping 83.6 pounds- she now weighs 94 pounds. We are working on getting her stronger and awaiting an appointment to be fitted with a prothesis. We "celebrated" our 65th anniversary on December 24th- you can add another eight years of puppy love for a total of 73 years that we have shared our love for one another. Our faith and love continue to grow stronger as we face the future. We are blessed to have you as our extended family.

My precious Barb weighs 84 pounds- she will go on solid foods this week
She is alert and her spirits are high. Her strength therapy is really going well and she is able to hold onto a rail and stand on one leg. Her weight loss is due to the amputation and hyper thyroid issues- she talks about the good old days with her Wilkhall and Camp Wahoo families, driving again, and most of all, going home. She wants you to know how much your cards and love means to her. It's going to be a long and tough road for both of us- thanks again from the
bottom of our hearts for being there for us. JD and Barb

Sitting in rehab with my girl
Barb just finished a pt session and surprisingly did well. She is weak from being in bed since last Monday. Trying to get the calories in her and hopefully head to the ranch soon. She says thanks from the bottom of her heart (some things you never forget)- we ❤ you dearly

Update on Barb
.Barb had surgery on Friday to amputate her right leg. The surgeon was pleased with the outcome with no surprises or problems. She is weak and alert. Her appetite is not good and we have a concern about her calorie input. She is not aware of the type of surgery due to her memory issues. Wilkhall, Camp Wahoo, and all my extended family gave me the support I needed to work through this crisis. God bless each and everyone who has reached out to me and Barb. The battle is not over and hopefully she can go to rehab knowing how much love she has received from each of you.

This is one time we need your prayers
Barb is at Duke Raleigh Hospital- tomorrow she will have her right leg amputated knee down-she has an artery blockage that cannot be repaired. Her memory issue plus the operation has old JD
asking for you to pray for both of us. We still look forward to celebrating our 65th anniversary on December 24th if the Good Lord willing. I cried all the way back home from Raleigh yesterday and still crying this am. Barb doesn't really understand what is going to happen, she just smiles and gives me a kiss.

I'm happy to say that Barb shows signs of improvement
we have taken her off seizure drugs and that was a great improvement. Keeping her calm and slowing down her restlessness were major factors. Her long term memory is incredible- her
short term is the problem. With support from family, friends, church, and my wilkhall family, I
feel much better for both of us. Thanks for your love and support-JD
